ERGO PEACHES: The SKYZONAL Ergonomic Adjustable Armrest

Today we are reviewing the: SKYZONAL Ergonomic Adjustable Armrest Wrist Rest. Cost Approx. $18.00 – $30.00

The purpose of this product is to support the shoulder/arm in a neutral position by strapping it to the armrest of the chair. It has already been reported that the straps are too short for certain armrests.

Positives: #1) Best used for a person who is: returning from an injury or surgery to an arm that requires them to avoid reaching, needs support from dangling or needs to avoid external rotation at the shoulder but they still wants to use their arm to mouse. This product would provide that function. #2) It is ambidextrous. #3) Moderately priced for what it claims to do.

Negatives: #1) Requires a chair with adjustable armrests (up and down, in and out) to establish the neutral posture. #2) The Keyboard would have to be positioned immediately next to the device to continue the support without reaching. #3) if used on the right arm it would require a Keyboard without the 10 key pad. #4) Some difficulty attaching it to the available chair(s). #5) Not easily adjustable to a slightly internal angled position that could provide better arm support rather than just being in a straight line with the armrests.

COMMENTS: Why would a person not move the mouse to their non-involved hand? A Keyboard tray that is adjustable with an outrigger or banana board option could be adjusted to do the same job. Providing a chair with multiple position armrests may be a better long term solution. This product should be used only for short periods (a few days to a few weeks) the same way a brace/supporting device would be used medically.
